History is on the Side of the Washington Huskies Football Team

History with Washington Husky football teamThe Washington huskies football team are not new in the world of sport as they have made their stand due to some outstanding performances not only by the college players, but also with the help of superb coaches that have been leading them to victories. The varsity has a total of 22 teams. Over the years, the university football team has been a major threat to their opponents.

This astonishing group of athlelics is firmly located in Seattle, Washington, United States. For this reason, they are tagged with the name “Washington Huskies”.

The university football team’s debut game took place in 1889. It is not just surprising but amazing that Washington football teams were unbeaten in 64 consecutive games from 1907-1917, they set this record in a competition named NCAA Division I-A. During this period, they won 40 games in a row under Coach Gil Dobie. Till date, this is the second-longest winning streak in NCAA Division I-A. However, Dobie finished his remarkable coaching career at Washington with an undefeated 58-0-3 record in 1916.

In Washington huskies history, the 1991 team is recorded to be the best Washington Husky football team and among the best in college football history. The team was undefeated; they won against their opponents by an average score of 42-9 in a regular season.

This superb group has won a lot of prestigious awards; they have set and broke records since their inception. Fortunately enough, they were able to claim the national championship award for four times in history, and these are; Helms award in 1960, (B(QPRS), FN, NCF) award in 1985, Rothman/FACT award in 1990 and the CNN and FWAA award in 1991.

They have won the Pac-12 titles for 16 times; 1916, 1919, 1925, 1936, 1959 (tie), 1960, 1963, 1977, 1980, 1981, 1990, 1991, 1992 (tie), 1995 (tie), 2000 (tie), 2016. And finally, in the bowl history, they have had 18 wins, 17 losses, and 1 tie.

With the help of past excellent coaches that have been opportune to train the Huskies, the team has been able to produce talents in the past. To mention a few, these are the names of Washington huskies heros: Cody Pickett, Keith Price, Jake locker, Brock Huard, Damon Huard, Marques Tuiasosopo, Sonny Sixkiller, Cary Conklin, Steve Pelluer, Chris Chandler, Paul Skansi, and Kasen Williams.  Also, it may be pointless if some names are neglected, with the likes of:  RB Myles Gaskin, Soph., S Budda Baker, Jr., DE Elijah Qualls, LB Azeem Victor, CB Kevin King, sr., WR John Ross  III, Jr., QB Jake Browning, Soph., OG Jake Eldrenkamp, Sr., NT Greg Gaines, Soph., and CB Sidney Jones, Jr.
